Purely Academic

For a longitme, there has been a controversy relating to the authorship of Shakespeare's plays.

Introduction

Hello, Lovers of Humour, Just a Minute!

Let not the title, 'English Jokes' mislead you. These Jokes are in English, but not about Englishmen or their customs. They relate to the English Language, its nuances, its fine shades of meaning, and of course, to 'Puns' obviously, your enjoyment of these jokes (from the book with same name) depends on your proficiency in the language, or shall we say, your love for the language?

The speciality of most of the jokes is their untranslatability into other languages as they depend on the subteley of expression in English.

The compiler lays no claim on tilling a virgin soil. These jokes are yours, mine and ours! They are culled from a variety of sources. But the enjoyment is meant for all!

We are not always amused when we laugh, we do not always laugh when we are amused.
